Miami, FL – June 7, 2020 Sunstate Bank partnered with Southwood Middle School to present their annual Superstar Award to student Lorenzo Castillo-Rios. Sunstate Bank Vice President, Monica Koblinski, and teller Ashley Huerta, joined the Southwood Middle School Principal and teachers in a “caravan” from the school to the student’s home to present a trophy and monetary award.

Sunstate Bank Vice President, Monica Koblinski, was honored as a recipient of the 2020 MLK West Perrine Champion award. The award recognizing contributions to the civil rights movement was presented to Ms. Koblinski at the 39th Annual Martin Luther King Breakfast held on January 16, 2020. Sunstate Bank has participated in the annual Martin Luther King breakfast and parade since 1999.

On September 3rd, 2019, upon learning of the devastation in the Bahamas caused by Hurricane Dorian, Sunstate Bank and its employees began relief efforts for the people of the Bahamas. Hurricane Dorian was the most powerful hurricane historically to strike the Bahamas.
